Simple Desk
Built originally as a test piece to see if I could build a desk, I wanted to make a simply designed desk, using traditional construction that was easy to build, efficient on materials and for fun incorporate an Arts and Crafts style.
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie house in Chicago, the desk is a simple box with a top and some legs. Now to give it some pizazz it features a Sapeal toe kick, solid Beech sides, with Poplar shelves and a Sapele and Black Walnut top. Beech Through Tenons really pop as they contrast with the dark Sapeal Top. Built using traditional joinery techniques this table will last for generations. Wood is hand finished with all natural, eco friendly Odie’s Oil.
